Overview

Wright Manufacturing is a privately owned, industry-leading commercial lawn mower manufacturer. I have either led or contributed to the development of seven products. I designed belt-driven hydraulic systems and complex mechanisms, coordinated with cross-functional teams, managed project timelines, and supported product launches and sustainment.

Role & Responsibilities

• Designed and tested fabricated structural components and mechanical systems for Wright B, Wright ZK, Wright Intensity, John Deere 600M, John Deere 600R, John Deere 600B, and Wright ZTO.
• Acted as project lead for Wright ZK and Wright B, ensuring on-time product launches:
• Managed timelines to meet product release dates.
• Reviewed designs to ensure specification compliance.
• Collaborated with production teams to integrate new products into manufacturing.
• Developed and executed prototype test plans, analyzing results to iterate on designs.
• Conducted test programs with professional landscapers for product validation.
• Led the WMI Part Browse System project, modernizing service information management:
• Developed a software architecture to manage 500 SKU combinations spanning 15 years.
• Streamlined the translation of engineering documentation to public-facing service documentation.
• Implemented Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes to enhance current production:
• Reviewed and approved ECOs.
• Worked with team leaders to ensure proper implementation of design changes.
• Optimized workflows for internal processes:
• Developed custom PLM software and SolidWorks integrations, replacing spreadsheet-driven workflows.
• Designed inline production tools to improve finished goods inspection.
• Automated SolidWorks tasks, enhancing engineering documentation quality and efficiency.

Key Achievements

• Successfully launched seven new mower models that contributed to 23% growth in market share.
